Koerber Foundation
The Koerber Foundation (Körber-Stiftung) was created in 1959 by the electrical engineer and entrepreneur Kurt Koerber. It supports creativity in science, art and social commitment. Each year, amongst other activities, a research proposal by a Europe-based scientist is granted 750.000 EUR. The grants alternate in the areas of the Technical Sciences and the Life Sciences. Scientists in each of these two fields of activity make up a ‘Search Committee’, which has the task of deciding who, from the best of their European colleagues, should receive the ‘Curator of the Koerber’ prize.
