Schering Foundation
The Ernst Schering Foundation (Schering-Stiftung) is a non-profit organization and was founded by Schering AG in 2002, primarily to promote science and culture. The aim of the Foundation is to contribute to the progress of science as a basis for sustainability and to preserve and promote cultural life as the heart of society.
Every year, the Foundation awards the Ernst Schering Prize of 50,000 Euro for particularly outstanding work in the field of basic scientific research. Furthermore the Schering Foundation endows a number of prizes, which are awarded by several scientific associations. Among these is the Young Investigator Award of 10,000 Euro, which is awarded for outstanding work in the field of Molecular and Cell Biology.
The Schering Foundation also supports talented young scientists worldwide through fellowships. These fellowships are granted to doctoral and postdoctoral students who want to carry out research projects in the fields of biology, medicine and chemistry at renowned institutes in their home countries or abroad.
